Reunion Island and Indian Ocean Engineering School
ESIROI is the University of Reunion Island's Engineering School. The school awards the "diplôme d'ingénieur", the recognized equivalent to an MSc Degree. It is located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, one of Europe's outermost regions. By virtue of its unique geostrategic position it is one of the few European engineering schools in the region.
As a component of the University of Reunion Island and with support from the Regional Council of Reunion, ESIROI students benefit from high-quality teaching, a network of international connections and prime working conditions in terms of equipment and laboratories. This is the first overseas engineering school to be certified by the French accreditation agency CTI (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur) and it takes up the challenge of excellence offering its graduates an opportunity to shine throughout the Indian Ocean region and further afield.
ESIROI offers a two-year induction course to the engineering curriculum in the school’s three departments. This intensive preparatory course aims to provide students with the two-year scientific foundation which is the basis required by the engineering cycle.
ESIROI offers 3 fields of specialization within the engineering cycle (3 years):
• Food Science
• Sustainable Construction and Energy
• Information Technology and Telecommunications
Mobility is a mandatory requirement for ESIROI students. Internships abroad help students gain a better knowledge of foreign languages, open up to the world, enhance their CVs and be part of efficient professional networks.
ESIROI is a member of the Archimède Group, together with some 30 University Engineering Schools. ESIROI has developed specific partnerships with AgroSup Dijon, Institut Mines-Télécom and the Polytech group.
